Hey you! Do you want to travel more? Here are the 6 habits to break free from to travel more. And it's not hard at all
In the past 3 years I have applied this to my life and it has changed my life completely.
People think that perhaps it's a good job, a rich husband/wife, maybe a lottery?
But none of that yet! It's simply different habits.
Below you will find out what those habits are.
1. Stop Waiting for others
That Whatsapp group chat where everyone is always planning to go somewhere and never happens? Ditch it. Go radio silent and do your own thing. If you keep waiting for others to live your life, you are simply wasting your time.
2. Cut back on non-essentials
Cut back on non-essential expenses like daily coffees or impulse purchases to save for your travel fund. Maybe it's time to stop smoking?
If you buy 3 coffees a day that cost 3£ each, for the whole week, that is around £3024 for the whole year. Imagine what you could do with that money?
Imagine how much you could save if you don't smoke. Good for your bank account and good for your health.
3. Fear of the Unknown
Embrace the unknown and step out of your comfort zone. Let go of fear and open yourself to new destinations and experiences. No one wants trouble anywhere in the world. If you respect the rules and are respectful to their culture, you will be fine.
4. Material Possessions:
Unless it's something that you really need for work or education, spend less on materialistic things and redirect that money towards your travel goals. Most of us are not millionaires and while travel would be easy if we were, it does not mean that we can't travel now. We just need to make different choices and some sacrifices.
5. FOMO on social events
While it's great to spend time with friends, family and communities, in one calendar year there could be 10 birthdays of your direct family members, 5 birthdays of close friends, and weddings. You can't stop your plans to attend all of the above. Others will have their birthdays even if you're not there and they will get married whether you're there or not.
They will understand and not judge you - in most cases. Remember to bring them back a present and you'll be fine.
For more important people or people close to your heart, of-course try to stay around to spend time with them, and if possible, why not travel with them? Instead of having a birthday party, go out for a long weekend in another country.
6. Subscription Overload
Do we really need to have a subscription for Netflix, Amazon, Disney, PS5 Yearly Pass, and many many more? If we sum it all up, it covers at least 4 return tickets.
So here you go, these are the 6 habits to break free from to travel more. At least you could try.Are you willing to let some of this habits go?
